2025 marks the 1,700th Anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea, at which the church gathered together in 325. Each and every Sunday we recite the Nicene Creed after the sermon but what does it actually say and what, if anything does it have to say to us; that is, why does it matter, if it matters at all? How and in what way is Jesus, God, and how do we talk about God and what do we believe about this God? We will take the Creed and break it down into 3 sections: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and we will meet over a series of weeks.
There will be handouts for the sessions and we will meet at 9am in the Nursery on the following Sundays:
Sunday September 14 Introductions: issues, major figures, and historical context
Sunday September 21 God the Father
Sunday September 28 God the Son
Sunday October 5 God the Holy Spirit
We will also meet on the following Wednesdays at 9:30am in the Parish Hall
Sept. 17, 9:30am
Sept. 24, 9:30am
Oct. 1, 9:30am
Oct. 8, 9:30am
I look forward to seeing you!
